MEL PENDER is 82 years old
… still sprinting and fast out the blocks adding author and speaker to gold medalist, military hero, and entrepreneur .
It started in 2017 with the publication of Expression of Hope: The Mel Pender Story, a book co-authored with his wife, Debbie.The book’s message attracted a new vision for raising hopefulness to a greater level.

The Expression of Hope Relay Team includes individuals, corporations, educational organizations, and academic institutions.
~ BOOK OF HOPE PROJECT ~
Provide a copy of Mel’s autobiography to youth served by charitable and community-based organizations in America as a reminder that hope remains relevant and with faith obstacles will move and barriers will fall: economic, racial, gender, education, and health.
~ MILITARY INITIATIVE ~
Provide Packages of Hope including Mel’s autobiography to soldiers returning to America.
~ COLLEGE SPEAKING TOUR ~
Speak to students attending Historically Black Universities (HBCUs) and to emphasize why hope remains relevant and how to avoid hopelessness despite expected and unexpected challenges.
